Life on the bike
Mountain biking has always been at the core of Katrin’s life. She started racing at just five years old, and from that moment, she was hooked. Over the years, she competed in both Cross Country (XC) and Downhill (DH), earning national and international results along the way. Nowadays, she has transitioned to Enduro riding, which feels like the perfect fit. Combining elements of both XC and DH, it’s a sport that resonates deeply with her—biking, pedaling, and tackling rough trails. It’s almost like falling in love with the sport all over again.
Beyond racing, Katrin has embraced a broader perspective on biking. Whether it’s simply enjoying the ride, participating in community events, or sharing her passion through various projects, she has found fulfillment in being more than just a competitor. Supported by great partners and friends, she is fortunate to have top-notch gear and a strong community by her side.
"Riding isn’t just a sport for me—it’s a way to reconnect with the spirit of my childhood, to push my limits, and to share that passion with others. Whether it's racing, exploring new trails, or building a community around biking, it’s something that will always be a part of who I am."

Life beyond mountainbiking
Katrin is also a researcher and lecturer at the University of Innsbruck. Currently, she is pursuing her PhD as part of the SFB Research Project “Computational Immediacy,” focusing on pointcloud-informed design processes. While her academic work challenges her in a completely different way, both research and biking fuel her curiosity, creativity, and drive for exploration—just in different arenas.
