A strong Danish cycling talent
Already as a child Caroline wanted to be a cyclist just as her mom and dad, and especially her 3 years older brother, who was an ambitious road cyclists. As soon as Caroline was big enough to fit her first road bike she started to do road cycling in the local club. Until the age of 14 years she only did road and track cycling, but then got the opportunity to go to the MTB Youth Europeans in Graz, as they needed a girl to complete the team.
That was her first MTB race and she loved every part of it, even though she was a ”newbie” and had a lot to learn. But after that she slowly started to do more MTB, joined the local MTB club and more or less quitted road cycling during the following years.
In her first junior year Caroline got 3rd at the European XCO and realized that she actually was at the top of this sport. This realization was her prime motivation to work even harder towards her goals. Since then Caroline has developed constantly and got to a new level every year. Since her bronze medal in the U23 category, she continued to be a Top10 Finisher in the Elite and can also count some podium wins her own.
