UCI World Cup in Lenzerheide, Switzerland
The cross country course, also called Ninos Gold Trail by ÖKK, was ridden for the first time at the BMC Racing Cup 2014. After three editions of the UCI MTB World Cup and the UCI MTB World Championships, it is considered by the top riders as technically demanding and physically very challenging. The many overtaking opportunities provide the best conditions for exciting races.
This year there are slight adjustments to the route, the climb to Heidis Hell now leads over the FLOWline and thus includes technical and steep passages.
Short Track
First the bad news: Nicole Koller had an unfortunate fall during a training run at the end of May and broke her humerus. In addition, there is a tear in the shoulder capsule, which means a break for an indefinite period.
We wish Nicole a fast and good recovery!
In the first sportive part of the weekend Anne Terpstra could finish ninth, Corline Bohé crossed the finish line in 18th position. Isla Short did not compete in the short race distance.
Cross Country Olympic
What an exciting race over the long distance on Sunday! At the front there was a tight race in the leading group: led by the strong Lecomte, four riders raced for the podium places. In the end Lecomte was able to break away on the steep climb, only Anne Terpstra was able to keep up and rides to a strong second place and rewards herself with silver.
Caroline Bohé also achieved a great race result: the young Dane rewards her good performance by completing the top 10.
Isla Short, on the other hand, had a difficult race: first a crash during the first race lap slowed her down, then a flat tire added to that and so she had to settle for 58th place in the end.
In the overall ranking our GHOST Factory Racing Team could consolidate the third place and is only 60 points behind the first placed Trek Factory Racing Team.
Racing continues already next weekend! June 16-18 in Leogang, Austria
