INNSBRUCK, AUSTRIA
Annual kick-off of the Crankworx World Tour 2022 in Innsbruck
After Tomáš Slavík was the measure of all things in Dual Slalom in 2021, he has to settle for 5th place this year.
As the only stop in Europe of the Crankworx World Tour, this year's Crankworx Innsbruck will once again see the world's best MTB riders gather in the Tyrolean Alps. The various competitions of the season will open there, including the search for King and Queen of Crankworx and the Crankworx FMBA Slopestyle World Championship.
Our Czech athlete Tomáš started the event on Thursday, June 16, 2022 with the Dual Slalom race. There he reached the fifth place which Tomáš was not completely satisfied with. After a strong first run against the US-American Luca Cometti, in which Tomáš could secure a lead of almost 0.5 seconds, he slipped in the second run in one of the last turns and had to admit defeat. He commented on his race result in a relaxed manner: "That's life.
At the Rockshox Pumptrack Challenge Tomáš Slavík rode to 15th place.
It continues at the Crankworx World Tour on August 11, 2022 at the infamous bike park in Whistler in British Columbia, Canada.
